She wrote the majority of the twenty-three Original Peter Rabbit Books between 1901 and 1913. The Tale of Peter Rabbit (Frederick Warne, 1902) is her most famous and best-loved tale. \r\n\r\nThis loosely rendered sketch of a path through trees is full of lively brushstrokes. Beatrix Potter enjoyed sketching outside and drew the landscape in all seasons. Although she has used quite a dark palette for this study, the lush greenery present, especially the area of grassy clearing not shaded by trees, suggests a summer’s day.\r\n","physicalDescription":"Landscape study with a path in the foreground leading through trees.
