In 2012 a free tote bag giveaway was introduced and as Zandra Rhodes was the weeks’ key evening speaker, she was approached to design a motif for the bag. A total of 2000 bags were produced to be given away free to members. \r\n\r\nRhodes was given a very concise brief for the design stipulating that it should include her name along with the words ‘Members’ Week.’ It also had to fit into the dimensions of a 245 x  275mm box, with the V&A Logo incorporated into one of the corners. \r\n\r\nZandra Rhodes (b. 1940) is an English fashion and textile designer, well known for her dramatic, glamorous and extrovert style. She has designed clothes for Diana, Princess of Wales, Elizabeth Taylor and Freddie Mercury. Since 2000 Rhodes has been designing sets and costumes for opera. Additionally she set up the Fashion and Textile Museum in Bermondsey, London, which opened in 2003.\r\n\r\n","physicalDescription":"Sheet of white paper with bold and abstract design in red, blue, black, yellow, green and pink. The design has a red section at the top filled in with a line of mutlicoloured stars, surrounded by red gouache. The lower half of the design has an abstract shape, decorates with polka dots with four stars/ explosions filling the rest of the sheet.
