In 2000 Porter became deputy fashion editor for <i>The Guardian</i>, and since then, has worked as an associate editor for <i>GQ</i> and deputy editor for <i>Fantastic Man</i>. He currently writes for <i>The Financial Times</i> as their menswear critic, in addition to his freelance work, DJ-ing and maintaining an active blogging presence online. Porter is particularly known for his understanding of contemporary menswear and familiarity with developing streetwear and alternative trends.\n\n- Daniel Milford-Cottam\n20/05/2016\n\nCharlie Porter has commented on this piece as follows:\n\n\"This was from Craig's second MAN show, and it was already clear that he was a designer who could command widespread attention. His previous show had featured models with headpieces made from planks of wood. The image became an internet meme, becoming so ingrained in the national psyche that it became a joke on that next week's Jonathan Ross chat show on ITV. This was Craig's first use of colour, and its effect was profound. To me, it was like a sudden expression of suppressed male emotion, an outpouring of feeling.
