This heavy ring has a hollow upper gold arc which is tapered to slot into the coiled gold wire end of the lower part of the ring onto which is threaded a series of granulated gold discs, gold beads and dark red and blue glass beads. The centre of the ring is largely filled with a gold back plate onto which is soldered an abstract design in gold inset with red, green and blue glass topped with a fringe of blue, silver (now tarnished to grey) and gold beads set onto coils of gold wire. A row of tiny seed pearls outlines the lower edge and left hand side of this motif. A smaller floral motif is also soldered onto a gold back plate that in turn is soldered onto a hammered part of the ring opposite the closure. It, too, is partly outlined with a row of tiny seed pearls attached to the petal points like a garland.","artistMakerPerson":[],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"gold","id":"AAT11021"},{"text":"glass","id":"AAT10797"}],"techniques":[],"materialsAndTechniques":"Gold and glass","categories":[{"text":"Jewellery","id":"THES48930"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"SSEA","id":"THES48598"},"images":["2019MC4352","2019MC4351","2015HP6261","2015HP6262","2016HY8785"],"imageResolution":"low","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"005","id":"THES410333"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"nose ring","id":"AAT46005"}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Pakistan","id":"x30015"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":"possibily from Sindh"},{"place":{"text":"","id":""},"association":{"text":"","id":""},"note":""},{"place":{"text":"Gujarat","id":"x29825"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":"possibly"},{"place":{"text":"Rajasthan","id":"x29841"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":"possibly from the desert region round Barmer"}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"20th century","earliest":"1900-01-01","latest":"1999-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"Given by Dr W.
