The handles on the vase are modelled as two snakes, which have interlocking tails. The body of the vase is in a yellow majolica ground and the interior is a mottled green majolica glaze. There is a neo-goethic motif around the rim of the vase in contrasting red and green, as well as white ribbon band around the body of the vessel. The foot of the vase is a hatched motif in green majolica glaze.
