She wrote the majority of the twenty-three Original Peter Rabbit Books between 1901 and 1913. The Tale of Peter Rabbit (Frederick Warne, 1902) is her most famous and best-loved tale. \r\n\r\nThis is a variant cover illustration for The Tale of Tom Kitten, which was published in 1907. There are only minor differences between this and the illustration that was used on the front cover of the book, showing Tom Kitten in his blue suit, with some of the buttons missing. In the story, Tom Kitten grows fat, causing several of the buttons to burst off. His mother, Tabitha Twitchit sews them on again. \r\n","physicalDescription":"A vignette style watercolour illustration of a kitten in a blue suit, the paper in portrait format.
