He was a keen artist, and his homework was often singled out for praise by his art teachers. \r\nBryon took inspiration from the events and things around him. Mundane everyday objects like an electric iron and a pair of scissors were opportunties for Bryon to practice his shading and perspective. He also drew tanks, gaskmaks, and the equipment of an air raid warden, reflecting the objects of the War.\r\nThese drawings demonstrate the techniques of art education as commonly experienced in British schools in the middle of the 20th century, as well as the objects of interest to an adolescent boy at the time.","physicalDescription":"A collection of drawings, watercolour paintings and gouache paintings. Each drawing is a slightly different size, and have been cut from sketchbooks. They are mostly on plain white or off-white paper. Many of the drawings include a signature, date, and often the school class and a title.\r\nThe subjects of the drawings are everyday still lifes, including an iron, scissors and vinegar bottle, and some copied photographs or postcards.
