They are unique, made by him, sometimes drawn upon, making aesthetic use of damage and scratches and often surrounded with decorated borders of cut and coloured card and pen and ink patterns. His images show an enchantment with women : everyday muses - ordinary women shopping, sunbathing, sitting on benches or simply strolling around. The damage, rough hand-decorated borders and general patina of age of the prints adds to their allure. They make a wonderful example and contrast - of how it is not always the pristine, fine print by the acknowledged master that can hold a place on the gallery wall and in the Museum.","physicalDescription":"Gelatin-silver print on green card with hand drawn pencil border, woman carrying bag, walking.","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Tichý, Miroslav","id":"A18377"},"association":{"text":"artist","id":"AAT25103"},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"paper","id":"AAT14190"}],"techniques":[{"text":"silver gelatin process","id":"AAT139114"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"Silver-gelatin print","categories":[{"text":"Photographs","id":"THES48910"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"PDP","id":"THES48595"},"images":["2007BL8917"],"imageResolution":"low","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"514A","id":"THES49773"},"free":"","case":"R","shelf":"19","box":"L"}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"photograph","id":"AAT46300"}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Czech Republic","id":"x29585"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"ca. 1960-1980","earliest":"1955-01-01","latest":"1980-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"Purchased with the assistance of Pierre Brahm, Mark Hawtin and Michael Warshaw","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Width","value":"205","unit":"mm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"paper size","note":""},{"dimension":"Height","value":"285","unit":"mm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"paper size","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"","marksAndInscriptions":[],"objectHistory":"","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"Photograph, gelatin - silver print, woman carrying bag, walking , ca. 1960-80.","bibliographicReferences":[],"production":"","productionType":{"text":"Unique","id":"THES48864"},"contentDescription":"","contentPlaces":[],"associatedPlaces":[],"contentPerson":[],"associatedPerson":[],"contentOrganisations":[],"associatedOrganisations":[],"contentPeople":[],"associatedPeople":[],"contentEvents":[],"associatedEvents":[],"contentOthers":[],"contentConcepts":[],"contentLiteraryRefs":[],"galleryLabels":[{"text":"Tichý trained as a painter but spent many years as a psychiatric patient, living on the fringes of mainstream society.
