Growing up in Oxford provided her with inspiration that has developed over 25 years into a theme that draws on buildings as diverse as ancient Greece to contemporary Europe and America. Some pieces reflect her personal interest in a particular place, while others are based on a building of significance to the client.\r\n\r\nVicki attended a Foundation course in Oxford in 1973, followed by a 3 year jewellery design course at Middlesex Polytechnic with a one semester exchange to the Fachhoch Schule in Schwabisch Gmund, Germany. After working as a designer for a manufacturing jeweller she was awarded a setting up grant from the Crafts Council with which to set up her own workshop in 1977. Since then she has exhibited widely and has many pieces in public and private collections including the Victoria & Albert Museum, East Midlands Arts, the Royal Scottish Museum and Houston University, Texas.\r\n\r\nHer commissions are many and varied including pieces for the Globe Theatre, Chase Manhatten Bank, Guggenheim Museum (NY), Temple Bar, Emily’s List Awards and Robinson College, Cambridge. Westway Development Trust. 2 Temple Place, a table piece for Hoare’s Bank London, the Prix Pictet presentation pieces presented by Kofi Anan 2008, 2009 and 2014. \r\n\r\nThis Siena Tower, composed of three interlocking boxes was a collaboration with the silversmith and jeweller, Mary Ann Simmons who made the basic box structures.
