In the musical Piggott is obliged to spend a million dollars in order to inherit a fortune, and this music sheet is illustrated with an image by the Scottish illustrator and cartoonist Arthur Ferrier (1891-1973) showing George Formby sitting on top of bags of dollars as he sits in a chauffeured convertible. Zip Goes a Million was specially written by the American Eric Maschwitz and the English impresario Prince Littler as a vehicle for the enormously popular George Formby. It opened at London's Palace Theatre on 20 October 1951 after an out-of-town try-out. Six months into the London run Formby suffered a heart attack and was replaced by the comedian George Dixon who remained with the musical until it closed after 544 performances on 7 February 1953.\n","physicalDescription":"Music sheet for <i>Ordinary People</i> with an illustration of a man playing a banjo atop a money-filled gold car.","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Maschwitz, Eric","id":"N8508"},"association":{"text":"lyricists","id":"AAT25675"},"note":""},{"name":{"text":"Littler, Emile","id":"AUTH322950"},"association":{"text":"lyricists","id":"AAT25675"},"note":""},{"name":{"text":"Posford, George","id":"AUTH331780"},"association":{"text":"composers","id":"AAT25671"},"note":""},{"name":{"text":"Ferrier, Arthur","id":"A31918"},"association":{"text":"artist","id":"AAT25103"},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[{"name":{"text":"Chappell & Co.","id":"A33617"},"association":{"text":"publishers","id":"AAT25574"},"note":""}],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"paper","id":"x30308"},{"text":"ink","id":"AAT15012"}],"techniques":[{"text":"printing","id":"AAT53319"},{"text":"lithography","id":"AAT53271"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"Lithograph, intermediate pages composed of printed text","categories":[{"text":"Entertainment & Leisure","id":"THES48959"},{"text":"Prints","id":"THES48903"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"T&P","id":"THES48602"},"images":["2014HC6592"],"imageResolution":"low","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"005","id":"THES356697"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""},{"current":{"text":"005","id":"THES356697"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"sheet music","id":"AAT26430"}],[{"text":"prints","id":"AAT41273"}],[{"text":"sheet music","id":"AAT26430"}],[{"text":"prints","id":"AAT41273"}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"London","id":"x28980"},"association":{"text":"published","id":"x30682"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"1951","earliest":"1951-01-01","latest":"1951-12-31"},"association":{"text":"published","id":"x30682"},"note":""},{"date":{"text":"1921","earliest":"1921-01-01","latest":"1921-12-31"},"association":{"text":"published","id":"x30682"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"Given by Mrs R.
