Spanish or French; Early 18th century' (later changed to Late 18th century).","historicalContext":"Note in register signed by Digby Wyatt: 'This Quilt, with the accompanying pieces forming a complete set of bed hangings, is beautiful. I would suggest that a bed might really be fitted up with it in the Museum and I hope it may be purchased. I do not look upon its price as excessive, but I should try, by making a bid for a slection of these objects from Senor Bracho, to get it for a rather lower price, say about £40 for the quilt and £5 each for the five pieces = 40 + 5 x 5=£65, say £65 or £60.
