These medals appear to have been collected together and modified with a bar attached on the reverse to turn them into buttons. It may be that they were intended to be worn prominently on a garment to indicate the wearer's devotion to Napoleon Bonaparte and his female relatives. This one shows Princess Pauline Borghese, sister of Napoleon, and the reverse shows the Three Graces.","physicalDescription":"","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Andrieu, Bertrand","id":"A18130"},"association":{"text":"designer and maker","id":"x34662"},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"Silver","id":"AAT11029"}],"techniques":[{"text":"Striking","id":"AAT206846"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"Struck silver","categories":[{"text":"Coins & Medals","id":"THES48974"},{"text":"Myths & Legends","id":"THES49005"},{"text":"Sculpture","id":"THES48896"},{"text":"Royalty","id":"THES48899"},{"text":"Portraits","id":"THES48906"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"SCP","id":"THES48600"},"images":["2007BN0714","2007BN0718"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"014","id":"THES395337"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"Medal","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""},{"apprise":"","note":""},{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Paris","id":"x29068"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"1813","earliest":"1813-01-01","latest":"1813-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[{"object":{"text":"A.18-2005","id":"O128441"},"association":""},{"object":{"text":"A.19-2005","id":"O128496"},"association":""},{"object":{"text":"A.20-2005","id":"O128504"},"association":""},{"object":{"text":"A.23-2005","id":"O128536"},"association":""},{"object":{"text":"A.21-2005","id":"O128511"},"association":""}],"creditLine":"Given by Jack E.
