As a child he became a member of the Children of the Queen’s Revels and remained with this theatre company until 1616–17, when he joined the King’s Men. He established himself as a leading actor but was forced to leave the stage as a result of his scandalous off stage life in 1619. \n\nField also wrote two comedies, <i>A Woman Is a Weathercock</i> (acted 1609?, printed 1612) and <i>Amends for Ladies</i> (acted by 1611, printed 1618); he also collaborated with Francis Beaumont and John Fletcher and with Philip Massinger.","physicalDescription":"Two press clippings mounted on a single sheet of paper.
