Alf Wallander was a designer in many fields - ceramics, glass, textiles, metalwork and furniture and was appointed artistic director at Rörstrand in 1895. He was responsible for a wide range of modelled shapes for Rörstrand in both porcelain and stoneware, useful and decorative wares.
