The painting is part of a cycle of the four seasons and was extensively copied between the 17th and the 19th century. \r\n\r\nPierre Laurent (1739-1809) was a significant French engraver who specialised in the production of landscapes after such masters as Boucher, Berchem and De Loutherbourg.
