This print forms part of a portfolio of caricatures, <i>Stage Folk: A Book of Caricatures by Frueh</i>, published by Lieber &amp; Lewis in 1922.  It was exhibited at the Theatre Museum in <i>Theatre Caricatures by Al Frueh: West End Meets Broadway</i>, in 1990.\n\nThis print shows the American comedian Raymond Hitchcock (1865-1925) in the revue <i>Hitchy-Koo</i> at the Globe Theatre, New York in 1918.  He made his New York debut in 1890, reaching star status in 1903.  He first appeared in the UK at Blackpool Grand in 1916 in the leading role in <i>Mr Manhattan</i>, which transferred to the Prince of Wales in London the same year.  He later returned to London to appear in <i>Hullo, America!</i> at the Hippodrome in 1919.","physicalDescription":"Linocut caricature of Raymond Hitchcock with his hands on his hips.
