The design shows a fashionable woman in a floral puffed culottes - sleeveless dress with low neckline. Her hair is swept up into a high, elaborate headdress and she wears large hoped ear rings.\n\r\nFrancesca was choreographed by Peter Darrell at short notice for Western Theatre Ballet to Albert Roussel’s Petite Suite for Orchestra and it was premiered at Sadler’s Wells Theatre, London, on 2 February 1967. In Francesca Darrell returned to one his favourite themes, Vampires. A relatively short-lived ballet the critics were unanimous in their admiration for the chic, fanciful clothes and hair styles which showed a witty contemporary elegance. This costume was designed for Carolyn Sanders\r\n\r\n","physicalDescription":"Costume design showing a fashionable woman in a floral puffed culottes-sleeveless dress with low neckline.
