The company originally made dolls but by 1910  it was also producing teddy bears. It was best known for its novelty bears - somersaulting and  musical, and it produced an early example of a Baby Bear. Like its fellow German makers of Steiff and Bing, Moritz Pappe used a button trademark. Its button was first embossed with a star and later with a clover leaf.","physicalDescription":"Shaggy golden mohair jointed bear with orange and black glass eyes set very close together. The nose is upturned and the mouth a long coat hanger shape, both are stitched with black wool There are felt paw pads and four black stitched claws set close together on each paw.\nThe bear has a turquoise jester type frill around the neck formed of triangular pieces with seven bells attached at the points. The bear wears a tall conical hat made of card, fabric and ribbon with a bell at the end.
