Edizioni Franca Mancini, Pesaro, ca. 1980.\n\nGiacomo Balla (1871-1958) was a leading figure in the Futurist movement. His work included painting, sculpture and design. Fuochi d'Articio is the Italian title of Diaghilev's Feu d'artifice (Fireworks) for which Balla created the abstract setting and lighting design. This five-minute piece, performed at the Teatro Costanzi, Rome, in 1917, was a ballet without dancers in which brightly coloured geometric shapes were lit from without and within, the lighting responding to Stravinsky's musical score.\n\nThis lithograph shows a detail of the setting. The screen print (S.1148-1982) shows the full set and uses different colours.\r\n","physicalDescription":"Lithograph, Fuochi d'Artificio (particolare), after a stage design by Giacomo Balla.
