Gamcha towels are most often found in checked and striped patterns, in colours such as red, and blue. The term \"gamcha\" derives from a Bengali word which means \"wiping the body\". Pratap Singh has taken a coarse, inexpensive textile associated with labourers and farmers, and reinterpreted it in a silk, cotton and linen blend fabric. Rajesh Pratap Singh has reinterpreted this inexpensive textile in silk, cotton and linen which have been hand-woven in his studio.
