Each tier is a different colour - green, red, white - and the lappets are of satin embroidered with garden vignettes in mainly seed stitch, satin stitch and gold couching. Each lappet is trimmed with four narrow edgings. The collar is open at the front and fastens with two silk loop and knot buttons. The lappets seem to have originally been fastened together with silk loops and tiny spherical metal buttons.
