They are designed to be translucent as they were intended to be replaced by stained glass panels of the same design, though this never came to fruition. From the wear on them it seems probable that they did hang over the windows for which they were designed for at least some period of time, though quite when they were removed is still uncertain. The top gallery is not that clearly visible from the main Cast Courts, but in the early years this area was open to students, who would have seen the blinds in detail.","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"One of twelve blinds designed by F.W Moody and his assistants O.
