Several different versions were staged, the most successful being W. Moncrieff's <i>Tom and Jerry, or Life in London</i>, which opened at London's Adelphi Theatre in November 1821.\n\nThe print shows Tom and Jerry meeting the actress and singer Lucia Elizabeth Vestris, who was famous for playing the male role of Don Giovanni in another of Moncrieff's works, the burlesque <i>Don Giovanni in London</i>. \n","physicalDescription":"Hand coloured etching entitled <i>The Green Room at Drury Lane Theatre.
