These arise through her application of coloured clay slip to the surface of the pot, which once nearly dry is burnished to create a soft sheen. After an initial biscuit firing, the pot is then re-fired packed in sawdust, this creating its carbonised surface patterning.","physicalDescription":"Pot, hand built earthenware, brushed with reddish slip and burnished.
