It represents the Roman military leader and statesman Julius Caesar (102BC-44BC). It formed part of the collection of theatrical memorabilia of the actor Robert Eddison and may have been collected for the possible theatrical connections with Shakespeare's play Julius Caesar. It is however unlikely that a theatrical reference was intended. The bust was probably sold as a souvenir in the 19th century.","physicalDescription":"Bust representing Julius Caesar, wearing a green laurel wreath, a dark pink cloak hanging over his left shoulder fastened on the right with a gold clasp, a blue tunic with a square-cut neckline bordered in gold, and a blue sleeve revealed on his right.
