On his return he began to make tiles inspired by Turkish ceramics. This ewer and dish are free adaptations of Turkish forms. But in Turkey the <i>cuerda seca</i> technique of separating the enamel colours was used only on tiles not on vessels.\n\nFrance, Paris; designed and manufactured by Léon Parvillée\nEarthenware, painted in enamel over glazed, raised slip decoration\n\nMuseum no. On return he specialised in making tiles in the Turkish manner and also direct copies of examples such as those on the Green Mosque and Green Tomb, which he presented to this Museum in 1893.
