The London production was staged by theatre producer, John Gale, and was directed by Jack Minster with designs by Hutchinson Scott.\r\n\r\nAfter John Gale retired as a West End producer, his family had the set model for Boeing Boeing restored as a birthday gift. The play has one setting, the luxurious flat of suave architect, Bernard, who has managed to get himself engaged to three air hostesses. The women work on different airlines with different schedules so are happily unaware of each other, until, in the established tradition of farce, a series of unforeseen events brings them to the flat at the same time. Hutchinson Scott’s design includes another feature of farce: multiple doors to allow for unexpected entrances and hurried exits.\r\n\r\nJ. Hutchinson-Scott (1924-1977), who used the name Hutchinson Scott professionally, was a successful designer in Britain and the USA, creating the sets and costumes for some of the West End’s long running hits. As well as Boeing Boeing, his work included There’s a Girl in My Soup (1966-73) and No Sex Please, We’re British (1971-87).\r\n","physicalDescription":"Set model for Boeing Boeing. 20th century interior with grey marbled walls and a wood panelled ‘foyer’ area with four doors at rear.
