She begins by preparing a series of hollow porcelain tubes by slip-casting into plaster molds. Once these tubes are ready, she packs them vertically into a deep container, which she then fills with porcelain slip so that the spaces between the porcelain tubes are filled. The moisture from the slip softens and fuses with the porcelain tubes to produce a solid block pierced vertically with evenly spaced holes.
