Groneman in the Netherlands by around 1960. Around this time, Mr Groneman made a copy of a crayon drawing illustrating the layout of the floor, which originally had been prepared by an English visitor to the abbey in the early 20th century. The tile and Groneman's drawing were received as part of a bequest to Gemeente Breda (Breda's Museum), with the request that these items should be offered to the V&A, where related tiles are present in the collection.","historicalContext":"Painted tin-glazed tiles of this period are known from several sites in south-western France, including the abbeys of Escaladieu and Flaran.
