This dress is digitally printed with a pattern taken from a German altarpiece, while the underskirt is made from painted gold feathers. The asymmetry of the garment is balanced by a single, printed-silk gauntlet like the one in the painting. McQueen was succeeded in 2010 by Sarah Burton, who designed the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding dress.\r\n\r\nLondon\r\nMade in Italy\r\nDigitally printed silk, after the Altarpiece of the Patron Saints of Cologne by Stephan Lochner (1400–52)\r\nDuck feathers\r\nGiven by Net-a-Porter\r\nMuseum no.
