With its immense train and flowing, flared hanging sleeves, it represents a very fashionable wedding dress of the period. It was worn with white silk and silver kid sandals, and a net veil held in position by a beaded tiara. The bride also wore beaded earrings to match the tiara. \r\n\r\nAlthough the lace now appears oyster-coloured, it was originally a delicate rose-pink. The chiffon edging to the sleeves and train, and the clinging satin slip worn underneath both retain the original pink colour. Fashion magazines during the 1920s and 1930s encouraged fashionable brides to consider wedding dresses in delicate tints, such as pale yellow, rose-pink and soft blue, rather than wearing traditional white.
