It was first performed in 1911, also at the Coliseum, when the title was <i>A Dream of Roses and Butterflies</i>. The piece was an extended version of the divertissement <i>Roses and Butterflies</i>, presented by Genée in the musical comedy, <i>The Bachelor Belles</i>, at the Chestnut Street Opera House, Philadelphia, on 3rd October1910.
