Shamsher Sen was the eccentric ruler of the small kingdom of Mandi in the Panjab Hills from 1727-1781. He was often portrayed as if distracted or even drugged. In this picture, he is holding on to his half-brother's hand as if he needs support in walking, in spite of the staff he uses with his other hand.
