The system was designed to be flexible to accommodate any arrangement of cubicles in a hospital ward and incorporated a siliconised track for silent running. It won a Design Council Award in 1969. The company were involved with the development of early plastics with their material, 'Roanoid', a plastic made from urea formaldehyde produced in 1923.
