His embrace of bold silhouettes and his fearless use of colour set him apart from his contemporaries. He favoured razor sharp tailoring with dramatic proportions and often worked with leather and wool. Montana also designed for the House of Lanvin (1990-1992) and launched a line of perfumes. The house closed in 1997.
