Sybil Rosenfeld felt this was unlikely as Garrick did not act in private theatricals, and the theatre did not open at Dalby Hall until 1777, by which time he had retired from the stage.  She feels the dagger and ?waistcoat belonged to his nephew, also called David Garrick, though agrees that Garrick may have given them to Edward Hartopp-Wigby? anyway.","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"Property stage dagger used by the actor-manager David Garrick (1717-1779).
