The decoration is of two types of chrysanthemum in silver yusen with areas of shosen, particularly on the stems. Set against a pale pink to beige ground, the petals and some of the leaves are in low relief moriage with subtle shading to both the petals (white with a green and yellow centre) and the leaves (dark and light green enamels). The counter-enamel is of two tones: a mottled dark blue with matt white immediately inside the neck.
