There is a central silver yusen enamel design of a mythical Ho-o (phoenix) in shades of green, blue, red and white enamels. The Ho-o is surrounded by a stylised floral and leaf pattern. The sides of the dish are decorated with abstract yusen geometric patterning within two narrow white enamel bands. The ground of the dish is a dull green enamel colour.
