The poster is typical of Shi'ia religious imagery because it depicts the holy family, who Shi'ia Muslims believed where the rightful successors to lead the Muslim people after Muhammad's death in 632AD. Religious posters are popular and are displayed in homes, offices and religious buildings in Iran, where the majority of the population are Shi'ia.
