In 1996 he moved to London and studied photography and fine art at the Royal College of Art. In the series ‘Black Holes and Other Inconsistencies’ Martins explores the concept that things exist only if and when they are observed. Traditionally, photographs have been perceived as representations of the truth, and landscape something that exists independently of the viewer.
