The main body of the vase is made up of pentagonals of clear glass, each with distorted, radiating white stripes, partly tinted purple or blue. This has achieved by picking up sections of prepared pentagonal canes with a stripy pattern, on a clear glass bubble which is then re-heated and 'marvered' (made smooth by repeatedly rolling over a smooth surface while hot) and expanded by blowing. The base has been ground flat.","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Hunner, Pete","id":"A37498"},"association":{"text":"maker","id":"AAT251917"},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[{"name":{"text":"Baltic Sea Glass","id":"A37500"},"association":{"text":"workshop of","id":"x28708"},"note":""}],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"glass","id":"AAT10797"}],"techniques":[{"text":"filigree (glass)","id":"x29342"},{"text":"free blown","id":"x30715"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"Mosaic glass build up of filigree canes, free blown","categories":[{"text":"Glass","id":"THES48946"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"CER","id":"THES48594"},"images":["2011EV3951"],"imageResolution":"low","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"141s","id":"THES49869"},"free":"","case":"4","shelf":"3","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"Vase","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Gudhjem","id":"x47161"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"2003","earliest":"2003-01-01","latest":"2003-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"Given by David Damant","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Height","value":"31.2","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"Diameter","value":"24.3","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"measured 10/01/2011","marksAndInscriptions":[{"content":"\"JÖNSSON + HUNNER 2003 BORNHOLM DENMARK 3.8\" diamond-point engraved on the side, just above the base","inscriber":{"name":{"text":"","id":""},"association":{"text":"","id":""}},"date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"description":"","interpretation":"","language":"","medium":"","method":"","position":"","script":"","translation":"Signature and date","transliteration":"","type":"","note":""}],"objectHistory":"","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"Vase, 'Snowflake', Baltic Sea Glass (Maibritt Jönsson and Pete Hunner), Bornholm, Denmark, 2003","bibliographicReferences":[{"reference":{"text":"","id":""},"details":"","free":"Jönsson and Hunner: Artisans of Light, Bornholm (Bornholms Kunstmuseum) Denmark, 2003, p. 19"}],"production":"Acquired with help of the makers; signed by both Maibritt Jönsson and Pete Hunner, as they both work together on most of the pieces made at Baltic Sea Glass.
