His work displays an interest in colour, surface decoration and in creating objects that provoke emotional responses. \r\nThe ‘Flamingo’ table was designed for Memphis in 1983. It featured in the 1984 collection of the group. The table is one of a series of four side tables which use similar elements, colours and surface decoration in different configurations. The first table, ‘Kristall’ was included in the premier Memphis collection of 1981, while the other two tables, the ‘Continental’ and ‘Polar’ were designed in 1983/84. The product names are taken from luxury hotels, bars and restaurants which was common for early Memphis objects. \r\n","physicalDescription":"Side table with circular yellow table-top slided into the oblique standing, black and white striped support; circular blue footbar and green pole standing on the top of the support.","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"de Lucchi,, Michele","id":"A35807"},"association":{"text":"designer","id":"x36960"},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"plastic laminate","id":"AAT14579"},{"text":"wood","id":"AAT11914"}],"techniques":[{"text":"painting","id":"x30598"},{"text":"laminating","id":"AAT53022"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"Plastic laminate and painted wood","categories":[{"text":"Furniture","id":"THES48948"},{"text":"Plastic","id":"THES49026"}],"styles":[{"text":"Post-Modern","id":"AAT22208"}],"collectionCode":{"text":"FWK","id":"THES48597"},"images":["2011EX3720","2011EX3719","2011EX3718","2011EX3717"],"imageResolution":"low","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"76","id":"THES49548"},"free":"","case":"PL20","shelf":"","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"table","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Italy","id":"x28927"},"association":{"text":"designed","id":"x29338"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"1983","earliest":"1983-01-01","latest":"1983-12-31"},"association":{"text":"designed","id":"x29338"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Height","value":"91.5","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"Width","value":"39.7","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"Depth","value":"55","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"Measured from object","marksAndInscriptions":[],"objectHistory":"The 'Flamingo' side table was designed for Memphis in 1983 and featured in the 1984 collection of the company.
