The lustre effect was achieved by treating the glass with metallic oxides and exposing it to acid fumes. The success of the highly \r\ncommercial Tiffany Glass and Decorating Company resulted from Tiffany's\r\ncombination of aesthetic judgement, mastery of craft processes and well-\r\ndeveloped entrepreneurial skill. His work covered painting, jewellery, \r\narchitecture, interior decoration and most forms of furnishing, both secular \r\nand ecclesiastical.
