All sorts of shapes and colours emerged from the skilful hands of potters in Jingdezhen, the porcelain city in Jiangxi province. \r\n\r\nThe predominant colour of this wine pot is black. This inspired the French art historian Albert Jacquemart (1808-1875) to coin the term 'famille noire' (black family) to describe Chinese porcelain of such a colour scheme.","physicalDescription":"Wine pot of porcelain, hexagonally pear-shaped with hexagonal lid.
