The poster includes a generic image of dancer Robert North in a typical 1970s dance outfit. Robert North was a founder member of LCDT, an excellent dancer and interesting choreographer. He not only danced with LCDT but also with the Martha Graham Company. He worked with The Royal Ballet and became Artistic Director of Rambert Dance Company and Scottish Ballet. His most popular choreography included the all-male Troy Game, Death and the Maiden, and the Christmas production, The Snowman. \n\nAnthony Crickmay, the photographer of this poster, began his career as an assistant to the Austrian portrait photographer, Lotte Meitner-Graf, who had a studio in London's Bond Street in the late 1940s. Crickmay set up his own studio in 1958 where he built up a high-profile range of sitters, including members of the royal family, and developed an international reputation as a photographer of theatre, opera, and especially dance. \r\n\r\n","physicalDescription":"Black and white photographic and typographic poster announcing London Contemporary Dance Theatre performing Waterless Method of Swimming Instruction and Scriabin Preludes and Studies at a gala at Sadler's Wells in aid of the students' scholarship fund.
