In 1987, he became apprenticed to the silversmith, Thomas Schleede.  From 1990 until 1996, he studied at  the Academy of Art, Nuremberg, under Professors Erhard Hossle and Ulla Meyer.  Awarded the title of Master Silversmith in 1994, he established his own studio in Hamburg in 1996.\r\n\r\nHe has exhibited widely in Germany and abroad and has been awarded numerous prizes and bursaries, the most recent being the Justus Brinckmann Prize for Art and Design, Hamburg, 2009.
