Having stolen the watch of King Peter of Yugoslavia in 1939, when performing at his palace, he earned the soubriquet: 'Borra, the King of Pickpockets and Pickpocket of Kings'. He became an Austrian citizen after World War II, and appeared with the national circus of Switzerland. He became a star attraction at the Bertram Mills Circus as 'The Thief of Baghdad'. In addition to touring with major European circuses, Borra became one of the highest paid artist of his kind at top night clubs acts.\n\nOne of Borra's tricks was stealing wallets and purses from members of the audience, inserting his card in them that told them to be more careful, before replacing them in their pockets or bags.\n\r\n\n","physicalDescription":"Pictorial and typographic circus advertisement poster.
