He went on to appear as a performer in his own right, producing material for other performers including Dan Leno (1860-1904) for whom he co-wrote 'No More Fancy Balls For Me' and 'The Tower of London', and Ada Reeve (1874-1966). Darnley made several recordings between 1900 and 1903 for Berliner, and The Gramophone and Typewriter Company Limited .\n\nThe cover features a verse of the patriotic song and a lithographic image of Darnley, along with images of Britannia, a steam train and a steam ship - aspects of the country that the song's lyrics apparently attributed to making the name of Britain great. Britannia is shown sitting in front of St. Paul's Cathedral with a shield by her side marked Honour and Freedom, holding a sceptre marked Progress. A large book, an artist's palette, a compass and technical drawings, spinning equipment and an almbic surround her on the floor, symbols of literature, science and the arts.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n","physicalDescription":"","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Banks, Harry G.","id":"A21573"},"association":{"text":"lithographers","id":"AAT25175"},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[{"name":{"text":"Francis, Day & Hunter Ltd","id":"A21574"},"association":{"text":"publishers","id":"AAT25574"},"note":""}],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[],"techniques":[],"materialsAndTechniques":"","categories":[{"text":"Prints","id":"THES48903"},{"text":"Entertainment & Leisure","id":"THES48959"},{"text":"Music Hall","id":"THES267742"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"T&P","id":"THES48602"},"images":["2011FC5722","2011FC5719","2011FC5724","2011FC5723","2011FC5721","2011FC5720","2011FC5717"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"007","id":"THES356699"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""},{"current":{"text":"007","id":"THES356699"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"sheet music","id":"AAT26430"}],[{"text":"sheet music","id":"AAT26430"}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""},{"apprise":"","note":""},{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"London","id":"x28980"},"association":{"text":"published","id":"x30682"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"1898","earliest":"1898-01-01","latest":"1898-12-31"},"association":{"text":"published","id":"x30682"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"","dimensions":[],"dimensionsNote":"","marksAndInscriptions":[],"objectHistory":"","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"Sheet music for 'That's How We've Made Our Name', written and sung by Herbert Darnley (1872-1947).
