In the late 1960s they created psychedelic posters for many of the English bands of the time, and decorated and advertised Nigel Waymouth's King's Road boutique, Granny Takes a Trip. They also designed for concerts held at the UFO club and Saville Theatre, and for underground magazine Oz. Their influences came from the decorative and eroticised designs of Art Nouveau, combined with the melting rainbow colours of LSD visions and pop art inspirations from the post-war media; traces of Disney, horror movie monsters and comic book characters and can often be seen hiding amongst the images.\r\n\r\nThe Who are an English rock band formed in 1964. The primary lineup consisted of vocalist Roger Daltrey, guitarist Pete Townshend, bassist John Entwistle, and drummer Keith Moon. They became known for energetic live performances including the pioneering spectacle of instrument destruction. They rose to fame in the UK with a series of top ten hit singles, boosted in part by pirate radio stations such as Radio Caroline. In 1967, The Who had their first US top ten hit, with the song I Can See for Miles as advertised in this poster.","physicalDescription":"Poster printed with red to yellow gradient background, with silver to gold gradient stars, and forground image in dark blue to light blue gradient with sliver to gold details featuring illustration of The Who in a mystical setting.
