She is depicted in the costumes that she wore in some of her most famous roles, beginning with the red and silver dress worn in her first performance, as Mamillius in <i>The Winter's Tale</i> in 1856, and ending with the wide rimmed white hat and layered dress and skirt worn as Lady Cecily Waynflete in <i>Captain Brassbound's Conversion</i>, 1906. \r\n\r\nEllen Terry's stage jubilee was celebrated on 12 June 1906 with a gala performance at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, in which which Enrico Caruso sang, W. S. Gilbert directed a performance of <i>Trial by Jury</i>, Eleanora Duse, Mrs. Patrick Campbell, Lillie Langtry, Herbert Beerbohm Tree, Nellie Melba, and more than twenty members of Terry's family appeared with her in an act of <i>Much Ado about Nothing</i>. The performance raised £6000 for Terry.
